Economic crisis aside, a search for poea jobs in Hongkong today at the POEA’s website revealed that domestic helpers are still quite needed in Hongkong. Some agencies even need as much as 200.
Since its economic rise, Hongkong families are double-income families. This meansthat both the mother and father go to work. Domestic helpers are therefore to needed to take care of the child or children left at home as well as tend the common household chores.
Filipinas are perhaps the best nannies in the world, caring the child left under her care as if its her own. Hongkongers trust Filipinas more when it comes to domestic management. A proof of this is that majority of domestic helpers in Hongkong are Filipinas. And apparently, they need Filinpinas more.
