The Role


The Standards Manager’s role is to implement the agreed regulatory framework for the client and to advise on, input to and assist with the development of the regulatory framework on the regulatory policy.

Responsibilities:

•To work with the Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Dept (LRA) team to share best practice and develop ideas for future improvements in general media regulatory policy

•To work with the other teams within LRA including policy development and licensing on relevant issues such as license implications of standards breaches, financial penalties and policy decisions

•To work with the rest of the LRA team and others on developing policies and implementing those policies in relation to licensing

•Work with external state and federal bodies concerned with media regulation in the MENA region on policy development and implementation of appropriate regulatory regimes

•Oversee and be responsible for adjudications and communications with licensees on complaints and sanctions cases

•Manage casework and ensure consistency in compliance cases handled by the MZA

•Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with external UAE regulatory bodies

•Statistical analysis of the trends in complaints and issues handled by the LRA team

•Staff management as and when required

•Financial control of fines where levied

•Manage and allocate casework in the Standards team

•Manage staffing, training, career development, performance and retention of staff

•Develop and oversee the delivery of training programs on policy changes, procedures, and business systems.

•Communicate business unit and individual performance objectives and targets and monitor and communicate changes with regards to policies and procedures.

Requirements


•Development and implementation of policy in the content production and dissemination area.
•Ability to grasp and analyse complex compliance and sanctions cases
•Development and implementation of procedures surrounding standards and regulations
•Solid IT skills with the ability to think creatively about the application and implementation of available IT to the process nature of the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
•Bachelor degree
•Public administration experience in Abu Dhabi is a plus.
